We are seeking a skilled accounting professional who will support the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, and compliance. This role involves managing the accounting department, preparing financial reports, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. The Chief Accountant will work under the supervision of the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Handle the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Support the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement preparation, reconciliation, and analysis.

Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyse financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Review and approve journal entries, adjustments, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Cash Flow and Financial Performance:
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions and initiatives.
Team Leadership:
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the accounting department.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- ACCA, ICA or equivalent professional accounting certification preferred
- Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or similar role, with a minimum of [X] years of experience in accounting and financial management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., IFRS).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
- Advanced Excel knowledge for financial analysis and reporting.
- Pays attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial information.
