We are a global company applying our successful model of landscape restoration to contribute to three of the world’s most critical environmental problems: the need for effective solutions to mitigate global climate change; holistic restoration of the world’s most degraded landscapes; and a growing population that requires sustainable alternatives for consumer products and markets that still contribute to deforestation and deforestation driven emissions. We have spent the last decade building the framework for bamboo to be a solution to achieve this through carbon-financed bamboo farms in Nicaragua, South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda and the Philippines.
In Ghana, Ecoplanet Bamboo – Western Africa operates in the Forest District at the Bandai Hills and North Bandai Forest Reserves. We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Finance Manager to lead the full Finance & Administration function in our Ghana Operations.

The Successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager – West Africa and will directly manage the Finance Manager, Administrator and Stores Assistant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead monthly and annual financial reporting to both corporate & in-country teams and undertake analysis of costs against operational activities.
- Business Partner to General Manager, ensuring day-to-day budget control, Finance vs Ops storytelling and supporting with critical decision making.
- Lead the Finance and Administration team, providing coaching and support to team members.
- Ensure a healthy short-term and long-term cash flow.
- Manage & comply with internal and external audits.
- Ensure all regulatory & statutory deadlines are met, submit tax filings, plus provide advice on tax optimization.
- Review general ledgers, financial transaction reports and account reconciliations to ensure completeness & accuracy.
- Manage the creation, review and filing of all annual statements, complying with local financial standards.
- Support the VP Finance with day-to-day Finance requests & analysis
- Lead all core accounting functions, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payrol, etc and act as the main point of contact with contractors and suppliers.
- Maintain & improve systems for asset control and management of stores and vehicles.
- Owner of all financial, procurement & administration policies and procedures and ensure adequate training & adherence.
- Any other duties related to the financial position which might occur.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experienced finance leader, able to manage a small team.
- Commercial & cost-control mindset.
- BA/BS/MSc/MA/MBA in Accounting, Finance or related field and a minimum 10 years of finance and operations experience.
- CIMA/IPA/ICA/ACCA/MCIPS Certification will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of locally accepted accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficient in MS Excel and QuickBooks Software.
- Professional knowledge and experience in procurement and inventory management will be an added advantage.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Attention to detail, analytical skills, good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Location: Accra-based but minimum of two weeks a month to be on-site near Abrewapong, Ghana (nearest town is Asante Akyem – Agogo).
