At Warc Africa, we envision a future where Africa nourishes the world while its farmers become the stewards of its fertile soils. Our mission is straightforward: uplift farmers from poverty through regenerative farming practices.
We've already positively impacted the lives of more than 100,000 people, increasing their income and improving their livelihoods. Our rapid growth has created thousands of rural jobs and facilitated the movement of tens of thousands of tons of crops to become food for the country.
But we’re just getting started. Our vision extends beyond Ghana, to West Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa, where we aim to empower one million farmers, helping them generate hundreds of millions of dollars while becoming climate heroes in the process. We’ve already laid the foundation and are now looking for passionate individuals to join us on this transformative journey.

Job Description
About The Job
Warc is partnering with Rainforest Builders to implement the Agricultural Intensification Program (AIP) in Ghana and Sierra Leone. While Rainforest Builders focuses on reforesting natural reserves, Warc complements these efforts by supporting smallholder farmers in transitioning to sustainable, high-yield agricultural practices that balance environmental conservation with food security.
As an Extension Officer, you will work closely with the Agronomist to support smallholder farmers in adopting improved agricultural techniques, ensuring the successful implementation of the AIP program. This role is field-based, requiring hands-on engagement with farmers, training delivery, and on-the-ground monitoring of farming activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Farmer Training & Capacity Building
- Deliver practical, on-field training to farmers on plantain production, soil fertility, pest control, and post-harvest handling.
- Support the setup of demonstration plots, guiding farmers through best practices in land preparation, planting, and input use.
- Provide ongoing technical assistance and troubleshoot challenges faced by farmers throughout the growing season.
2. Field Operations & Crop Management
- Supervise input distribution, ensuring farmers receive the right seeds, fertilizers, and other resources.
- Conduct regular farm visits to assess crop performance, soil conditions, and plant health.
- Work alongside farmers to implement improved farming techniques and support regenerative agriculture practices.
- Assist in pest and disease management, promoting sustainable solutions such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
3. Data Collection & Monitoring
- Work with the M&E team to track farm productivity, training impact, and adoption of improved practices.
- Maintain detailed farmer records, including profiles, training participation, and farm progress.
- Identify challenges in the field and propose solutions to enhance program effectiveness.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Community Coordination
- Act as a bridge between farmers, local partners, and the Agronomist to ensure smooth program implementation.
- Collaborate with community leaders and farmer groups.
- Represent Warc and Rainforest Builders in community meetings and training sessions.
