A reputable and fast-growing Savings and Loans Company in Ghana invites applications from suitable qualified applicants for the following positions:
Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Head of Credit, in assessing creditworthiness, setting credit limits, monitoring overdue accounts, negotiating payment terms, developing credit policies, and collaborating with internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Establishing internal controls and processes for credit assessments
- Provides oversight responsibility for the credit administration function of the Bank
- monitoring and recovery, and developing prudent credit guidelines in line with organizational requirements
- Full responsibility for the credit approval and management process of the credit portfolios
- Recommend strategies where account management or recovery is needed on problem accounts.
- Review to recommend or approve all credit proposals and ensure that proper securities on collateral's are taken and registered
- Establishes and implements principles and credit policies that are aligned to the needs of the Bank and meet the best practice standards demanded for an effective and efficient risk management function
- Develop and maintain co-operative relationships between all stakeholders in the credit value chain

Required Skills or Experience
Qualification Required & Experience
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in marketing, accounting, banking, finance, or a similar field.
- A professional qualification would be an added advantage
- A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification and work experience in a financial institution
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent knowledge of loan application procedures and best lending practice
- Hardworking and goal-driven
- Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Good planning, quantitative and analytical skills
- High integrity, confidentiality, firm and fair
- Strong computer literacy skills
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office.
- Proven knowledge of banking laws, rules and regulations
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
- Sound independent judgment
- Should be proactive, strategic, analytical, customer focused and pay attention to details.
- Proficient in IFRS reporting standards.
- Excellent organizational, presentation, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, team playing, risk and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Software suite (i.e. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
