Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the IT Business Analyst role, reporting to the Manager, Solutions Architect, is to collaborate closely with stakeholders in designing and implementing innovative solutions. This entails translating business needs into technical requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and driving excellence in digital solutions.

Working under the guidance of the Manager, Solutions Architect, the role aims to facilitate the delivery of transformative products and services that exceed customer and business expectations.

Through effective communication, cross-functional collaboration, and leveraging IT service provider resources, the IT Business Analyst endeavours to propel the organization towards continued success in the digital landscape.

Job Role

Requirements Gathering and Analysis:

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories, capturing functional and non-functional requirements.

Solution Design and Documentation:

  • Collaborate with the Solutions Architect and development teams to design innovative and feasible technical solutions that address business needs.
  • Create detailed solution design documents, including system architectures, data models, process flows, and interface specifications.

Stakeholder Management and Communication:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors, serving as a trusted advisor and liaison.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of project scope, requirements, timelines, and deliverables.

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Assist in project planning activities, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management, to ensure successful project delivery within scope, time, and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to prioritize tasks, resolve dependencies, and mitigate project risks and issues.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Work with testing team to develop comprehensive test plans and test cases to validate solution functionality, usability, and performance against business requirements.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to execute testing activities, analyze test results, and ensure the quality and reliability of deliverables.

Process Improvement and Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the organization, leveraging technology to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to address business challenges and drive continuous improvement in business processes and systems.

Training and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for end-users and stakeholders to facilitate smooth adoption of new technologies and solutions.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues, contributing to the professional development and growth of the team.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Stay informed about regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to fintech, ensuring that solutions adhere to legal and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, PCIDSS, and AML regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance in IT solutions and processes.

Qualification Required & Experience

Education

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience within the fintech industry or related sectors is required.
  • Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, process improvement, and project management is highly valued.
  • Exposure to agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and experience working in agile environments is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Competencies

Professional/Technical Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze complex business requirements, identify technical solutions, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with stakeholders, document requirements, and present findings.
  • Proficiency in various software tools and technologies relevant to fintech, such as databases, data analytics tools, project management software, and business process modeling tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, manage relationships with stakeholders, and influence decision-making processes.
