IPA has been fully registered and working in Ghana since 2009.

Job Description

  • Location: Mion District, Karaga District, Kumbungu District, Tolon District.

Project Summary

Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a non-governmental policy and research organization dedicated to discovering and advancing what works to improve the lives of people living in poverty. Combining technical rigor, immediate policy interest, and a solid grounding in the needs of the poor, IPA’s work helps practitioners better allocate their resources and improve their operations. IPA has been fully registered and working in Ghana since 2009.

IPA is looking to recruit Enumerators to manage field activities on a new research project. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position.
Reports to: Field Manager
Job description: The Enumerators will conduct qualitative, quantitative, phone surveys with participants in the areas listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys in assigned communities.
  • Live within assigned districts or field stations during the period of the survey
  • Adhere to all IPA survey and data protocols.
  • Adhere to all COVID-19 protocols outlined by the Ghana Health Service.
  • Promptly respond to contact from the Research Associate, Field Manager, Senior Research Quality Associate or other IPA staff.
  • Perform other duties related to the project that may be assigned to him/her.

Required Skills or Experience

Skills or Experience

  • Experience Using Paper or CAPI Survey
  • Experience doing quantitative or qualitative field activities
  • First degree or its equivalent from a reputable institution with at least one-year field/data collection experience
  • Should be familiar with Computer Assisted Interview (CAI) or keen to learn.
  • Familiarity with administering interviews using SurveyCTO is an added advantage.
  • Should be fluent in English
  • Should be fluent and able to translate questionnaire in any or combination of the following languages: Dagbani, Likpakpan
  • Should be willing to travel and work in remote communities.
  • The ability to speak a combination of languages of specific geographical locations will be of great advantage

Note

  • There will be an aptitude test and interviews for external shortlisted candidates
  • Trainees who perform best at the surveyor training will be considered for auditor position.
  • Being a resident of the above-mentioned districts is preferable
