The Technical Project manager is a leader and skilled problem solver. He / She is accountable for the success of all Technical Projects, responsible for managing all project technical teams, often coordinating efforts across departments and managing cross-functional teams. He /She reports progress to business owners or the executive team as well as inspires team members to see the big picture and push toward their shared goals.
Job Description:
Project Management
- Collaborates with stakeholders to document project scope, deliverables, goals, risks, blockers, success measures, and estimated resources needed.
- Ensures that projects remain in-scope and meet budgetary, scheduling, and quality requirements.
- Creates, manages, and distributes project communications artefacts like charters, schedules, and budgets.
- Provides project status updates at predetermined time intervals to all stakeholders.
- Communicates routinely to management, customers, project team members, and other stakeholders, actively soliciting and addressing customer and project team feedback.
- Assists in business development efforts to create project proposals, RFPs, estimates, and schedules.
- Sets and monitors project budgets and staffing requirements.
- Ensures adherence to legally binding requirements.
- Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the project, including subcontractor monitoring
- Establishes key project criteria metrics.
- Develop project control and reporting procedures and manage changes in operational plan
- Plans and leads status review meetings, which may include internal team members, vendors, and customers.
- Responsible for training, managing, and motivating the project team, as well as resolving team conflicts.
- Resolves technical and operational issues as required.

Technical Management
- Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and to establish the sequence of pipe installations, and to plan installation.
- Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage, fixtures instructions, using measuring instruments such as rulers and measuring tape.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and involved in the construction or repair of houses, building, of other structures.
- Implements and monitors a preventive maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance and a scheduled maintenance program to provide maintenance by manufacturers specifications.
- To provide skilled journey level work and supervision in the installation, replacement, adjustment, repair, and planned maintenance necessary to maintain reliable and functionally efficient operations of air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Provides advice and guidance on air conditioning and refrigeration issues, supervision of the continuous evaluation and repair of refrigeration equipment as well as water cooling, and air systems, as well as to the installation, replacement, inspection, adjustment, repair and routine cleaning to refrigeration and air conditioning, and controlled environmental systems.
- Retains familiarity and knowledge of various valves, pumps, air controls and handling units, coils, compressors, condensers, pipes, pneumatic and electrical controls, pressure gauges, sliding door.
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, and supervising the work of air conditioning and refrigeration, technicians, work crews and for carrying out skilled tasks in accordance with best practices.
- Ability to interpret work from blueprints, sketches, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and sequence of operation interpretations.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned staff; assign, distribute, and coordinate work.
- Inspect, diagnose malfunctions, and make field repairs to electrical equipment.
- Design, install, repair maintain, test, and construct varied electronic sub-assemblies found in municipal facilities; and calibrate level, pressure, and flow telemetry.
- Install and maintain control and protection panels used to operate electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment.
- Record data, indicate equipment status, and activate supervisory control; maintain and repair automatic control valves and associated control functions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and associated costs; prepare diagrams and complete requisitions for required parts and equipment.
- Determines work requirements and sequence of masonry/tile assignments through review of work orders, plans, or drawings.

- Excellent meeting, workshop, and conference facilitation skills, with proven knowledge of how to foster attendee participate and collaboration in small and large groups.
- Knowledge and experience of with different project management frameworks, including waterfall and agile.
- Solid technical understanding and ability to define and refine requirements through a project lifecycle.
- Employs strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
- Ability to quickly learn, understand and apply new technologies.
- Willingly to mentor more junior team members and share knowledge.
- Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced work environment.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials common to the plumbing trade, skills in the installation, repair & maintenance of all types of plumbing work.
- Installation of electrical wirings, equipment, machines or programs to specifications
- Performs skilled work in the design, setup, installation, repair, and alteration of HVAC systems.
- knowledge of troubleshooting of sliding door, gate barriers MV panel, SMB & DP panels.
- Must have a valid driving licence.

Education & Experience Requirements:
- Experience: Seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in the building and mechanical trades which can include either mechanical, electrical or plumbing, two of which must be in a supervisory or foreman capacity. Completion of an accredited trade or vocational school can be used for up to two year’s credit for experience.
- State Certified Journeyman’s license or equivalent.
- Certified Engineer from Ghana Institute of Engineers
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, business management, or related area of study.
- 5-7 years of experience as a Project Manager or similar position responsible for defining and managing project scope, timelines, profitability, and effective delivery of products or services.
- Experience in managing delivery of customer-facing and internally facing products or services.
- PMI or PMP certification or similar from an accredited organization will be an added advantage though not required
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with industry-standard word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software programs.
- Working knowledge of building heating, cooling, and control systems
- General knowledge of building construction trades.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations relative to plant operation and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and applications. Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to lift approximately fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to use ladders and scaffolding to work at heights up to approximately thirty (35) feet.
- Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
