Brief role description
This role is responsible for leading and managing G4S’ Finance team and strategy, ensuring the growth and development of the financial strategy and function.
Business Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to company financial policies in budget processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting and administrative practices in line with legislation and accepted accounting standards.
Budget and Financial Management:
- Prepare and submit the annual budget on time for Head Office approval, following budget guidelines.
- Maintain expenditure within approved levels, ensuring compliance with budgetary control procedures.
- Submit accurate forecasts of monthly results, implementing proactive measures to avoid unacceptable outcomes.
- Analyze and evaluate monthly accounts, identifying trends and variances, and provide management information to the Managing Director.
Accounting and Records Management:
- Accurately process decentralized accounting transactions on the G4S ERP system, ensuring detailed records and supporting documentation.
Accounts Receivable and Cash Flow:
- Manage the regional Accounts Receivable function, ensuring effective credit control to maximize cash flow.
Cost Control:
- Implement cost-saving initiatives.
Claims and Insurance:
- Coordinate litigation, insurance, and other claims.
Personnel and Skills Development:
- Develop the financial department personnel.
- Manage subordinate staff through:
- Performance assessments
- Skills development
- Career path planning
Health and Safety:
- Participate in the development, review, and implementation of safety plans at the branch/region/national level.
- Attend safety meetings, talks, and education programs, and follow up on safety activities.
- Report safety incidents and ensure safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Wear protective clothing and distribute safety information when required.

Qualifications and attributes
- Relevant B degree in Financial Management or Accounting (postgraduate degree highly advantageous) and Chartered Accountant qualification
- Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in Accounting and/or Finance, with knowledge of company law, security industry legislation, and local tax law
- Familiarity with G4S Finance Policy, procedures, and compliance with statutory, tax, and other obligations
- Strong leadership, people management, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and computer literacy
- Solid accounting and auditing skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Ability to collaborate, build relationships, and innovate within teams
