Job Summary
This role is responsible for providing quality audit services including evaluating the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the systems of control within the bank and the quality of ongoing operations. The incumbent will conduct financial, compliance, operational and systems-oriented audits.
- Effectively implement Audit and Regulatory reports
- Ensure compliance with the provisions of the Banking Law, the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and Directives and Procedures established by Bank of Ghana, ARB Apex Bank and the policies of the bank.
- Appraise, from time to time, the effectiveness of internal controls in place and propose new controls, as needed, for the consideration of the Board’s Audit Sub-Committee.
- Assist Management in improving the risk management process, control environment and operational efficiency across the bank, including governance and operations and create a control environment that will detect and avoid any fraud.
- Develop a comprehensive annual Internal Audit Programme for the bank and perform financial, operational, and compliance audits in accordance with the Internal Audit Programme.
- Conduct investigations on any irregularities discovered by or brought to the Auditor’s attention in the Bank.
- Conduct follow-up reviews of financial, operational, or Regulatory compliance deficiencies noted during audits to ensure that corrective action is taken.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualification, Competencies and Experience
- University Degree in Accounting /Banking Finance
- Professional qualification in Accounting or Banking (ACCA II, ACIB II, ICAG II, etc.) would be an added advantage.
- Master’s Degree in related field
- At least five years working experience in similar role
- Highly analytical, critical, and pays attention to details
- Proactive, innovative and dynamic problem-solver
- Professional, with high personal integrity
- Good interpersonal, communication and report-writing competencies
- Must have worked at a similar role for not less than 5 years
- Must have knowledge in T24 banking software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
