Electrical Switchgear Limited (ESL) is an electrical panel manufacturing company incorporated in Ghana. We design and build electrical low-voltage main distribution and control panels for industrial, commercial and residential applications.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Design Engineer is responsible for generating panel design and layout per client requirements while taking cognizance of industry-standard reports to the Production Engineer. The Design Engineer also assists the team in building Electrical panels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate panel design and layout for production and to accompany quotation
  • Design accessories to facilitate design implementation
  • Produce circuit drawings and design to industry standards, regulations and manufacturability
  • Coordinate panel builds to ensure they are built in accordance with the established schedule
  • Assist the Production team in panel building when required with the following responsibilities:
  • Build panel according to the provided circuit and layout, while conforming to industry standards in panel building
  • Ensure timelines are kept at all times and communicate appropriately if any challenges arise
  • Ensure efficient use of materials by generating a component list for each project when assigned.
  • Responsible for the quality of his work, material wastage and rework
  • Provide reports on the status of the ongoing projects in their charge and the challenges facing the team.
  • Observe 5S in his work area at all times
  • Take care of tools given to him by the company.
  • SHE: Working safely and supporting the overall Safety, Health and Environment Management standards that apply to your work area

OHSE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all TAGG’s OHS&E procedures
  • Follow all safe work procedures, rules, and instructions
  • Risk Assessment
  • Hazard identification and reporting
  • Knowledge on the safe use of all tools and equipment as applicable

Required Skills or Experience

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in design engineering, and designing and interpreting electrical drawing
  • Experience in working with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 management systems is an advantage
