Job Summary
OpenLabs Ghana Accra Campus is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Academic Counselor to join our team. The Academic Counselor will play a pivotal role in supporting students’ academic journeys by providing guidance, resources, and personalized support to enhance their educational experiences and outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of academic policies, and a passion for fostering student success in a vibrant, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
Student Advising:
- Provide one-on-one academic counselling to students, assisting them in course selection and career pathways.
- Develop individualized academic plans to help students achieve their educational and professional goals.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with faculty, administrators, and support services to create a cohesive support network for students.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and monitor students’ admissions, maintaining accurate records and preparing reports as required.
- Identify at-risk students and implement intervention strategies to improve retention and graduation rates.
Resource Development:
- Stay updated on educational trends, policies, and best practices to continuously enhance counseling services.
Career Guidance:
- Assist students in exploring career options and connecting them with internships, job opportunities, and professional development resources.
- Organize career fairs, networking events, and other initiatives to support students’ career readiness.

Qualifications
Education:
- A relevant bachelor’s degree / Diploma with significant experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in academic counselling, student services, or a similar role in an educational setting.
- Experience working in higher education institutions is preferred.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in counselling or academic advising are advantageous.
