A vacancy exists in our Mining Department for the position of: MINE PLANNING ENGINEER
JOB PURPOSE
The incumbent will be responsible for delivering short to medium-term mine plans in line with long-term plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare Mine design, production plans and monitor the implementation thereof.
- Deliver short to medium term mine production and assists in development of budget.
- Develop weekly and monthly production schedules to ensure that ore bodies are mined in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Prepare weekly and monthly mining cost forecast.
- Monitor weekly and monthly mining cost.
- Monitor, analyze and advise on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual mine production and equipment performance.
- Prepare Drill and Blast schedules, taking into consideration final pit designs, geotechnical recommendations, and production requirements.
- Review and critique planning assumptions and suggest alternatives solutions to develop robust mine plans.
- Deliver a good ore blend crusher feed plan in line with the monthly gold production strategy and to ensure it is produced and managed.
- Deliver all mining-related reports to stakeholders promptly.
- Manage the mining production database.
- Prepare daily and weekly production reports and presentations.
- Assist the Long to Medium Term Senior Planning Engineer to do.
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor
Required Skills or Experience
Knowledge
- A degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in mining planning.
- Must be proficient in the use of appropriate mining software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine) for planning and optimization.
- Must have working knowledge in geology, environmental management, and Ghana mining regulations.
- Certification in mining safety, risk assessment, or project management will be an advantage.
