ABOUT THE ROLE
The Retail Sales Assistant is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning and running of shop activities and following standard operating procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greeting and assisting customers to find the goods and products they seek.
- Assisting customers on the phone
- Responding promptly to customer inquiries
- Monitoring and requesting stock
- Balancing cash book
- Acknowledging and resolving customer complaints
- Keep proper and accurate records for approved creditors.
- Keeping the store and shop floor tidy and clean
- Receive and inspect all incoming materials to the store and reconcile with stock requests and waybills.
- Perform monthly stock-taking and reconciling with ERP with supervision from the Operations Manager
- Packaging and labelling products before they are dispatched.
- Arrange and label products in the storeroom for easy identification and accessibility.
- Maintaining ISO documentation and record-keeping
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

OHSE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledge of and adherence to all TAGG’s OHS&E procedures
- Follow all safe work procedures, rules, and instructions
- Risk Assessment
- Hazard identification and reporting
- Knowledge on the safe use of all tools and equipment as applicable
Required Skills or Experience
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- At least a Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in retail sales for a minimum of two (2) years.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and understanding of sales principles and best customer service practices
- Good computer skills including the ability to use database marketing and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good selling skills
- Good attention to detail skills
- Holds self-accountable for achieving goals and meeting commitments
