UMA is seeking to employ a qualified, experienced, and motivated Ventilation Engineer
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regularly conduct ventilation surveys to measure air quality, airflow rates, gas concentrations, and temperature.
- Oversee the maintenance of ventilation equipment, including fans, regulators, and ducts.
- Continuously monitor air quality to detect hazardous gases such as carbon monoxide, Nitrous fumes, etc., and take corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure all ventilation systems comply with local, national, and international mining regulations and safety standards.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for ventilation-related incidents, such as gas leaks or fires.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments related to mine ventilation.
- Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
- Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.
- Work with the Mine Foremen and Supervisors to get ventilation works carried out in a timely manner and to the specified standard of quality
