JOB TITLE: SENIOR PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and carry out first line Production Operations activities as directed by the relevant Discipline Supervisor on the FPSO process and utilities plant safely and efficiently, being aware of safety of others, effective utilization of FPSO systems and processes related to FPSO operations, ensuring compliance with company and statutory requirements and in line with the 35 x Performance standards/associated assurance tasks.
  • Provides and carry out first line Production activities for Topsides Process/Utilities as directed by relevant Discipline Supervisor on the FPSO as outlined in PD below.
  • Carry out Preventative Production and repair work, shutdowns, isolations and planned Production in accordance with the CMMS ensuring.
  • All Production maintenance related activities are carried out to the highest standards
  • All test and inspection routines required for the Production System are completed
  • Proper records/history and reports are maintained
  • Review and update Job descriptions for planned Production as required
  • Be familiar with and lead by example with the Facility’s plant and machinery their safe operation and Production and will ensure knowledge of safety requirements including work permit systems, operational and emergency procedures, company policy and instructions.
  • Facility Management Systems Production, Standards and Procedures
  • PTW System Production
  • CMMS Production activities and improvements and purchasing activities:
  • Shutdown and Major Maintenance
  • This includes but is not limited to:
  • Carry out planned preventative and remedial Production maintenance as described in Maintenance management system work instructions
  • Responsible for weekly monitoring checks on safety and production critical equipment, reporting any deviation of set parameters and raise work orders in Production management system
  • Carry out fault finding and diagnostic checks on all vessel equipment, ensuring any repairs are addressed promptly. Ensure critical spares are available and any discrepancy are addressed
  • Completing and maintaining all documentation associated with Production engineering as required for all Production operational work activities
  • Provides Engineering Production support to achieve and maintain the technical
  • and performance integrity of the FPSO Facility
  • Complete all work activities in accordance with the Facility standards, Facility Management procedures and specifications
  • The above is an outline of key duties and accountabilities, rather than an exclusive or exhaustive list of responsibilities. The post holder is expected to undertake any tasks which may reasonably be expected within the scope of the position.
  • The postholder is expected to adhere to the Golden Rules of Safety (transitioning to ‘The 9 Lifesaving Rules in 2020) and the Petrofac Values.

Essential Qualifications And Skills

  • BSc./ B.Tech in Engineerings
  • Years or more in relevant field
  • Ability to utilize interpersonal skills in resolving issues
  • Technical apprenticeship for Oil and gas production facilities training scheme or Certificate IV in Process Plant Operations or tertiary qualified preferred. FPSO operations experience is desirable.
  • Engineering trade, hydrocarbon production or other relevant qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative
  • Good Interpersonal skills
  • Significant experience in hydrocarbon processing facilities using 3 Phase Separation Equipment, Gas Compression and DCS Operation. Hydrocarbon processing operational experience in a similar role would be highly regarded
  • Experienced in operations of gas compressors for use in gas lift and gas injection operations
  • Subsea production system operating experience
  • Control Room operating experience and DCS graphic configuration and experience.
  • Experienced in DCS control room operations
  • Experienced in Process control, plant instrumentation system and troubleshooting
  • Experience as production supervisor or technician on an FPSO/Platform or similar facility with experience in the operation and maintenance of process equipment
  • Have experience of working using Permit to Work systems
  • Experience with Facility Management Systems and computerized Planned Maintenance Systems preferred
  • Confident communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to write and review technical documents and procedures
