JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented and results-driven Digital Marketing Officer to join our dynamic sales and marketing team. This role will focus on developing and implementing innovative digital marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness, drive traffic, and generate sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital marketing tools and techniques, with the ability to analyze data and adapt strategies accordingly.

You will also be responsible for managing USSD products, collaborating closely with the IT Manager to ensure seamless technology integration, and reporting directly to the CDO to align marketing efforts with sales objectives. Additionally, you will work with the CDO on go-to-market and distribution strategies and have specific sales targets to meet and report on.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Marketing Strategy

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive digital marketing strategies to increase brand visibility and drive online traffic.
  • Identify target audiences and tailor marketing campaigns to meet their needs and preferences.

USSD Product Management

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of USSD products to enhance customer engagement and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure that USSD offerings align with overall marketing and sales strategies.

Sales Targets and Reporting

  • Set and meet sales targets, contributing to overall business growth and profitability.
  • Regularly report on sales performance, campaign effectiveness, and market insights to the CDO.

Go-to-Market and Distribution Strategy

  • Collaborate with the CDO to develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies that align with distribution goals.
  • Support the CDO in identifying new market opportunities and optimizing existing distribution channels.

Content Creation and Management

  • Create and curate engaging content for various digital platforms, including social media, websites, blogs, and email campaigns.
  • Oversee content management and ensure that all digital content is up-to-date, relevant, and optimized for search engines.

Performance Analysis

  • Monitor and analyze website traffic, social media engagement, USSD interactions, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of digital marketing initiatives.
  • Utilize analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush) to generate reports and provide insights to the marketing team and CDO.

Technology Integration

  • Collaborate with the IT Manager to implement and optimize marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and other digital marketing technologies.
  • Ensure that all digital marketing initiatives align with the organization’s technological capabilities and best practices.

SEO and SEM

  • Conduct keyword research and optimize website content to improve organic search rankings.
  • Manage paid search campaigns (Google Ads, social media ads) to maximize ROI and achieve marketing goals.

Social Media Management

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to increase engagement and brand awareness across various platforms.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, customer feedback, and opportunities to enhance brand reputation.

Email Marketing

  • Design and implement email marketing campaigns to nurture leads and retain customers.
  • Analyze email performance metrics and optimize campaigns for better results.

Customer Insights and Research

  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, preferences, and behaviours.
  • Utilize insights to refine marketing strategies and enhance customer engagement.

Campaign Management

  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, ensuring alignment with overall marketing goals.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and agencies as needed for campaign execution.

Brand Management

  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all digital platforms and marketing materials.
  • Monitor brand reputation and respond to customer inquiries and feedback online.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in digital marketing, with a strong focus on online advertising, SEO, SEM, and social media management.
  • Experience managing USSD products or similar mobile service offerings is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Analytics, Google Ads, and marketing automation software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of current digital marketing trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
