The Coordinator for the School of Graduate Studies plays a crucial role in supporting the administrative and academic functions of the graduate programs within the School. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The Coordinator will work closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all graduate programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Services:
- Provide academic and administrative support to graduate students, including answering inquiries, processing applications, and assisting with registration.
- Maintain student records, track academic progress, and assist with graduation requirements.
- Coordinate with faculty advisors to ensure timely student progress and address any academic concerns.
Program Administration:
- Assist in the development and implementation of graduate programs and curricula.
- Coordinate course scheduling and faculty assignments.
- Assist with the organization and logistics of graduate student events, such as orientations, workshops, and seminars.
Admissions and Recruitment:
- Assist with the review of graduate applications and participate in the admissions process.
- Promote graduate programs through various channels, including website updates, brochures, and outreach activities.
Faculty Support:
- Provide administrative support to faculty members, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and assisting with research activities.
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all graduate student data.
- Prepare reports on student enrollment, graduation rates, and other key metrics.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in higher education administration, preferably in a graduate school setting.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
