About the Role:

The Assistant Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for leadership and oversight of assurance and compliance analysis on the performance of the university. The successful candidate will coordinate with all academic and administrative departments to analyze and create reports based on the compiled data. The Assistant Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory agencies.

The Assistant Director will play a key role in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to support institutional decision-making and ensure quality across academic and administrative functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic advancement of the university through evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.Reports to: The successful candidate will work in the Office of the President, reporting directly to the General Counsel of the university.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Collect, organize, and analyze institutional data from various sources, including student information systems, surveys, and external databases.
  • Develop and maintain databases, data models, and reporting tools to support quality assurance and compliance at institutional-wide level.
  • Conduct statistical analyses and data visualizations to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to institutional effectiveness and performance.

Quality Assurance:

  • Coordinate the compilation of compliance reports for regulatory agencies including but not limited to Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) as required by the Education Regulatory Bodies Act, 2020 (Act 1023).
  • Support institutional accreditation efforts by providing data, evidence, and documentation to demonstrate compliance with accreditation standards and criteria.
  • Assist in coordinating quality assurance activities, including program reviews, institutional effectiveness assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

University Compliance Status:

  • Monitor and analyze university compliance to quality assurance standards from credible national and international sources to benchmark Ashesi's performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct comparative analyses to understand Ashesi's position relative to peer institutions in key compliance and quality assurance ranking criteria.
  • Collaborate with university stakeholders to develop strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing Ashesi's standing in university rankings.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on analysis to inform strategic decision-making and resource allocation.

Professional Development and Leadership:

  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in data analysis and quality assurance.
  • Represent Quality Assurance in university committees, meetings, and events as needed.
  • Support with strategic planning, goal setting, and decision-making related to quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree with a strong focus on statistical analysis or work experience of not less than five (5) years as a Quality Assurance expert in any related field.
  • Experience with collecting and analyzing data.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research design, analysis, and statistics.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are crucial.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
