- The Cluster “Network for Inclusive Economic Development” in Ghana consists of six bilateral, four regional and seven global projects.
- The cluster focuses on shaping the economic framework for inclusive, sustainable and employment-enhancing growth and providing
advisory services.
- The main client is the Federal Ministry for Finance, Development and Cooperation (BMZ) and the European Union
Scope of Role:
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the financial management, budget and accounts controlling, cash management and commercial compliance of several projects in the NIED cluster, with the main responsibility being for the Invest4Jobs project.
Tasks:
- Responsible for the financial control of the projects. (e.g., budget, cost and contract monitoring, outgoing funds).
- Ensures the active management of accounts receivable and payables and coordinating this with the GIZ NIED service unit as well as GIZ country offices for the projects.
- Prepares budgets in cooperation with the project leads on monthly expenditure controls, cost controls and act on any wrong charges against the project accounts.
- Ensures correct handling of procurement services for project implementation, in line with the applicable contract award regulations.
- Provide advise to projects on commercial issues (e.g., business with BMZ, German public sector clients, co-financing).
- Communicates on commercial rules, standards and guidelines to project staff.
- Responsible in meeting accounting deadlines while considering departmental and country-specific requirements for the projects

Qualification Required & Experience
- University degree, preferably in business with a focus on finance and controlling.
- Min. of 10 years of relevant professional experience as a finance manager with public implementation agencies.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP controlling functions and Excel tools for financial administration, and knowledge of GIZ-specific financial
management tools like Onsite Reporting and Onsite Operations are assets.
- Experience with the processing funds of German Government donors (e.g. BMZ), EU Co-financing knowledge is an asset.
- A structured and proactive way of working, reliability and interest in challenges.
- High level of commitment, ability to work in a team, strong communication skills as well as intercultural and social skills.
- Proficient in English, knowledge of the German language is an advantage
