Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching and Learning
- Deliver engaging lessons in Geography and Global Perspectives, adhering to the Cambridge curriculum.
- Use diverse teaching methods, including fieldwork, case studies, and project-based learning, to make lessons practical and relatable.
- Foster critical analysis of geographic and global issues, encouraging debate and exploration of multiple perspectives.
2. Curriculum Development
- Develop and adapt lesson plans, ensuring alignment with Cambridge syllabus requirements and student needs.
- Design interdisciplinary connections between Geography and Global Perspectives.
3. Assessment and Reporting
- Create and grade formative and summative assessments, ensuring students are prepared for Cambridge examinations.
- Provide detailed feedback to students to improve academic performance and support their research and coursework projects.
4. Student Engagement
- Guide students in independent research for Global Perspectives projects and Geography coursework.
- Promote student involvement in extracurricular activities such as Model United Nations, environmental clubs, or debates on global issues.
5. Professional Development
- Participate in Cambridge professional development workshops and training.
- Stay informed about advancements in teaching practices, Geography, and Global Perspectives curriculum.

Academic Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Education, Environmental Science, or a related field from a recognized university.

Teaching Qualifications
- A valid teaching license or certification, such as Post Graduate Certificate in Education(PGCE),Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or a recognized diploma in education.
- Cambridge training certifications for Geography and Global Perspectives are beneficial.
Work Experience
- A minimum of 3–5 years of teaching experience in Geography at the secondary or post-secondary level, preferably in an international or Cambridge curriculum setting.
- Experience teaching Global Perspectives or related interdisciplinary subjects is desirable.
- Proven success in preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE, AS, and A Level examinations.
Key Skills and Attributes
- Strong understanding of the Cambridge International Curriculum for Geography and Global Perspectives.
- Proficiency in research methods, data analysis, and integrating real-world global issues into lessons.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to inspire critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving in students.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to deadlines and exam preparation.
- Familiarity with using technology Geographic Information System (GIS) tools in Geography teaching.
