The Bank invites applications from highly skilled and suitably qualified applicants for the vacant position of an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager.
Role Summary
The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing environmental, social and governance policies and procedures of the Bank and the rural and community banks (RCBs)
The incumbent will provide technical expertise on key issues related to environmental and social impact assessment and on sustainability risks in the design, preparation, implementation and supervision of Bank and RCBs operations, taking into consideration best industry practices and standards

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of an ESG strategy of the Bank
- Perform regulatory, ESG, risk management and reporting roles
- Familiarize him/herself with the Bank’s ESG/Sustainability Gap Assessment report
- Coordinate the environmental and social initiatives and the compliance to law and regulatory requirements of ARB Apex Bank and the RCBs with respect to sustainability
- Develop, implement and monitor corporate-level ESG / sustainability initiatives, which will be implemented in all business areas, across all operational levels
- Coordinate with all business areas / departments / units to ensure compliance with the ESG /sustainability guidelines and directives
- Report to the Board and management on ESG / sustainability register
- Report to stakeholders, regulators and all allied report-consuming stakeholders on all applicable ESG / sustainability matters
- Ensure full ESG / sustainability implementation and compliance
- Conduct ESG materiality assessments (financial and impact materiality)
- Lead the successful implementation of the Ghana sustainable Banking principles and sector guidance notes at ARB Apex Bank and the rural banking sector
- Ensure the sensitization of RCBs on ESG/sustainability matters and guiding them on compliance
- Liaise with development partners to identify their sustainability requirements and assist the bank to address all identified gaps
Qualification Required & Experience
- A minimum of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field of study or a qualified accounting professional, (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA) or in a relevant field with at least 6 years of post qualification relevant experience, preferably in sustainability/ESG data management, audit, risk or reporting in a corporate setting or in sustainability consulting
- A good understanding of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) is required
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in providing data analytics and data quality verification and management

Knowledge and Skills
- Experience with data analytics and reporting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Good understanding of the global sustainability landscape, including different stakeholders and their interests, reporting and transparency trends and evolving legislation
- Experience working in a development finance institution with the ability to foster collaborative relationships, influence and build trust in a highly matrixed organizational setting
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and standards including GRI, integrated reporting, SASB, TCFD, sustainable banking principles (Ghana) and UN Global Compact among others
- Must be willing to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced. rapidly evolving environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
