Job Description

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Senior School Leadership Team (SLT), the Head of International School will lead at a strategic level and guide staff to enhance the International Section’s programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Executive Head and Senior Management Team to implement the school’s educational strategy and policies.
  • Supporting the recruitment of teaching staff in collaboration with the Executive Head and HR department.
  • Working with the Head of Admissions on the admission and induction of new pupils, including the development of admissions tests.
  • Chairing International Section staff meetings, managing agendas, and resolving  action points.
  • Leading the review and implementation of teaching and learning policies, including those on marking, assessment, homework, examinations, behavior, special educational needs, and safeguarding.
  • Aligning the Cambridge IGCSE and IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
  • Developing the International curriculum in collaboration with senior colleagues to meet students’ educational needs.
  • Overseeing professional development and performance management processes for International Section staff, working closely with HR.
  • Ensuring the school’s academic development, including improving educational stan- dards and setting examination targets for IB PYP and IGCSE.
  • Acting as the school’s liaison with the IB and Cambridge Assessment, keeping staff updated on curriculum developments.
  • Promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and student engagement in learn- ing.
  • Tracking student progress, using data to set improvement targets, and ensuring students achieve their best.
  • Promoting the Datus mission, values, and ethos within the school community.

Required Skills or Experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Education/Administration from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant working experience.
