Job Purpose
To provide prompt repairs of engineering systems on auxiliary plant equipment to avert undue interruptions in the supply of services and to ensure the generation and consistent supply of essential utilities to the plant and works related to contractual installations, all within the company’s policies and work procedures
Principal Accountabilities
- Carry out repairs of auxiliary plant equipment to avoid undue prolonged downtime
- Operate the steam Boilers and Air Compressors to generate steam and compressed air for efficient manufacturing operations
- Direct and assist outsourced service providers to repair or refurbish auxiliary equipment to keep them in good running conditions and to avoid their prolonged downtime
- Test and ensure that Anti-fire Pumps, Fire Hydrants, Sprinklers and other firefighting equipment are always in good working order for use in the event of an outbreak of fire
- Monitor the liquid petroleum gas (LPG) level and recommend replenishment, supervise discharge on delivery and ensure flow to all points of usage
- Carry out the installation of new plant equipment and civil structural works
Qualification Required & Experience
- Mechanical Engineering Technician Certificate (MET) Part III or HND Mechanical Engineering
- 3 years of relevant working experience
- Knowledge of basic electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and general civil works.
- Good knowledge of the installation of new equipment and interpretation of working drawings
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Knowledgeable in quality, occupational health & safety and environmental ISO management systems
