Job Description

Reports To: Sales and Marketing Manager

Legendary Foods is seeking a dynamic individual to advance our FMCG sales growth, expand into new markets, and drive client engagement in the Greater Accra Region and beyond. The Sales Executive will play a key role in acquiring new clients, managing the sales pipeline, and contributing to marketing activities to increase product awareness. This individual will also assist in coaching other sales personnel, handle collections, track sales data, and gather trade and merchandising information from retailers.

Duties of the Role

Sales Activities:

  • Assist in executing sales plans and identifying opportunities to increase B2C & B2B sales.
  • Prospect and develop new customer relationships, identifying potential clients in both local and international markets.
  • Maintain a network of potential clients/customers to grow business accounts and meet sales targets.
  • Engage in active selling by prospecting leads, cold calling, and closing sales deals with small to large accounts.
  • Gather sales data and provide input for sales reports and performance tracking.

Marketing Engagement:

  • Participate in planning and executing product promotions and special sales activities.
  • Work with retailers to improve product visibility by ensuring optimal shelf positioning and signage.
  • Assist in creating targeted marketing initiatives that drive customer traffic and product exposure.
  • Support in identifying advertising campaigns and negotiating deals to increase brand awareness.

Customer & Sales Support:

  • Handle customer feedback and relay information to relevant internal teams for resolution.
  • Assist in documenting and resolving customer issues, ensuring timely follow-up and problem-solving.
  • Work with retailers and wholesalers to ensure product requirements are met and to improve the customer experience.

Merchandising & Collections:

  • Responsible for gathering trade data and coordinating merchandising efforts with retail partners.
  • Manage collections and ensure timely payments from clients, adhering to company credit terms.
  • Support inventory control by liaising with the sales team to prevent theft, ensure food safety, and optimise profitability.

Coaching & Team Support:

  • Offer coaching and guidance to sales team members when needed.
  • Share sales best practices and contribute to the team’s overall growth and success.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned based on the needs of the organisation.

Compensation:

Compensation commensurate with experience. Compensation will include a base salary + bonus based on sales targets, and medical insurance will be available after the probation period.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A valid driver’s license
  • Proven sales experience in FMCG, with the ability to meet targets.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to different customer personalities and needs.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and prioritisation skills.
  • Results-driven and proactive, with a willingness to travel and work in
  • diverse environments.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to company values.
  • Candidates should be adaptable and flexible with the understanding that Legendary Foods is a fast-growing company in a start-up environment.
