Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill a vacancy in the post of Director of Finance in the Parliamentary Service of Ghana.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Finance shall provide support to the Clerk to Parliament and Management of the Service through the coordinating Director of Finance and Budget, by performing the following duties:
- Lead the development and implementation of long-term financial strategies and frameworks that align with the strategic goals of the Parliamentary service.
- Ensure that all financial activities of the Parliamentary Service are in strict
- Lead the response to internal and external audits and implementation of audit recommendations to enhance financial management practices
- Provide detailed financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making by management of the Service.
- Ensure that banking, investment and treasury operations are conducted in a manner that minimizes risk and maximise returns
- Engage with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Finance, Controller and Accountant General’s department, external auditors and development partners to facilitate smooth financial operations and timely release of funds
- Oversee the development, review and implementation of financial policies, procedures and guidelines to improve operational efficiency in the management of the funds of the service
- Lead the preparation of the budget and strategic plan of the Department of finance
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the clerk to parliament
Qualification Required & Experience
- A good first degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or any relevant subject from a recognized university with a minimum of 10 years relevant post-qualification experience plus a Master’s degree in a relevant field with a relevant field from a relevant University with a minimum of 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience and at least 3 years experience on a grade analogous to Deputy Director in a public service institution
- An applicant shall be a member in good standing of a recognized professional body such as ICA, ACCA etc

Age Limit: Except when an applicant has been in the employment of a public service institution or state agency, the applicant should not be above 50 years of age on the date of appointment to the post
