- Employment Type: Full-time, 1-year contract (with the possibility of extension)
Job Summary
Healed World LBG is seeking a dedicated Nutrition Officer to join our team for a Nutrition project. The Nutrition Officer will play a key role in implementing nutrition-related activities, supporting community health education, and promoting improved nutrition practices across the Wa East District. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the health and resilience of Northern Ghana's communities through targeted nutrition and health interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement nutrition activities, including community-based growth promotion (CBGP) sessions, pregnancy schools, and nutrition education workshops.
- Provide technical support and training to Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) and Community Health Nurses (CHNs) on infant and young child feeding, maternal nutrition, and dietary diversity.
- Facilitate nutrition education sessions for mothers and caregivers, focusing on topics such as complementary feeding, food safety, and dietary diversity.
- Assist in data collection and monitoring of nutrition indicators, including meal frequency, dietary diversity, and community nutrition status.
- Work closely with district health officials, CHNs, and CHVs to identify and address nutritional needs in the community.
- Prepare monthly progress reports and contribute to project documentation, including success stories, challenges, and lessons learned.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Dietetics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in community nutrition programs, preferably in rural or low-resource settings.
- Strong knowledge of maternal, infant, and young child nutrition (MIYCN) principles and practices.
- Experience working with community health volunteers, CHNs, and local health authorities.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Proficiency in data collection and reporting, with experience in using mobile data collection tools preferred.
