Job Description
BRAVEAURORA is a non-profit organization in the North East Region of Ghana looking for a suitable Head of Finance and Operations to lead the organization's finance and operations function. The officer will work full-time to develop and implement organisational finance and operational plans. The candidate should be willing to live in Walewale in the North East Region.

We require a “Head of Finance and Operations” with strong knowledge and experience of the Non-profit space in Ghana. The role involves overseeing the organization's operations, ensuring smooth and efficient financial management, supporting strategy development, and achieving strategic goals.

Job Summary
The specific responsibilities of the candidate will include;
- Work with team leads in the development of operational, financial and budgetary plans;
- Establish annual performance and development goals for staff to ensure optimal performance;
- Plan, monitor, and analyze key indicators for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of all key initiatives;
- Oversee the financial and administrative operations of the organization including budget management, financial reporting, developing and maintaining best practices, and maintaining good internal control systems;
- Uphold the organization’s policies and standards, ensuring regulations are followed and nonconformances appropriately investigated;
- Identify and sustain strategic relations with other non-profits and implementing partners;
- Build partnerships through networking and advocacy with public and private sector to promote child well-being and BRAVEAURORA’s visibility;
- Promote quality and cost-effective interventions and outcomes;
- Offer technical assistance in the development, selection, and application of resource mobilization processes and tools;
- Train other staff and partners where required, on operations standards, tools, and processes;
- Adhere to professional standards as outlined by acts, protocols, rules, and regulations;
- Ensure that donor contractual obligations are met to a high standard and policies and procedures adhered to;
- Document, analyze, synthesize and share lessons learned; and,
- Analyze current operational processes and performance and propose solutions for improvement
Required Skills or Experience
The qualified candidate should generally possess:
- A master’s degree in management, business administration, accounting, human resource management or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in operations role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven understanding of, commitment and action to promote child protection, gender equality, and diversity
- Relevant computer software skills (Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks)
- Strategic understanding and solid experience in managing security, risk and legal compliance
- Significant experience in financial and budget management
- Good knowledge of Results Based Management (RBM) tools and approaches
- Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking
- Excellent interpersonal skills
