Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital is seeking to recruit a Director of Human Resource Management.
Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Chief Executive, the overall function of the Director of HR is to provide direction and advice in the management of Human Resources in the hospital. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for human resource management and ensure thorough monitoring of human resource activities, research, policy development and implementation within the hospital
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direction in the development and management of human resources in Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital
- Lead in the policy development, analysis and review in the area of human resources management
- Advise and provide technical and administrative support to the Chief Executive in the planning, recruitment, placement, development and management of human resources for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital

- Lead in the development and maintenance of comprehensive human resources (HR) database for Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital
- Prepare annual reports and other reports on HR as required by the Chief Executive
- Lead in the monitoring and evaluation of HR
- Lead in the preparation of budget for the HR
- Contribute to the development of medium/long term plans of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital
- Co-ordinate fellowship awards for Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital staff
- Lead in the development of incentives/welfare packages for Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital staff
- Lead in the development of guidelines and protocols on HR for the hospital
Qualification Required & Experience
Job Specification
- Postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management (Masters or equivalent)
- Member of a recognized professional Human resource body (in good standing)
- The applicant should have at least 12 years working experience, 5 of which should be a post graduate qualification experience and also in a Senior Management position
- Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in management
An applicant for any of the positions must be able to demonstrate
- Broad knowledge and understanding of MOH/KATH policies and operating procedures
- Broad knowledge and understanding of health services quality assurance issues
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and team player
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to work, lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to organize workload and work under pressure to meet tight timeliens and targets
- Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good advocacy and negotiation skills
- Conflict management skills
- Demonstrate flexibility and a methodological approach to work
- Good computer literacy
- Goal-oriented and honest
