Nestlé CWA is currently looking for a Legal Counsel at our Nestle Central and West Africa Office who will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations affecting the operations of the company; advise the business on legal issues involving internal and external stakeholders and work with external solicitors to protect the interest of the business on litigation.
Responsibilities:
- You will prepare or vet legal documents; and represent the company at meetings on legal issues.
- Advise the Board and company on ethics, conflict of interest and good corporate governance.
- Diligently prosecute litigations involving the company by engaging/coordinating all relevant external stakeholders (solicitors, ministries/government agencies) to protect the interest of the company

- Manage the relationships with regulatory authorities, government agencies, shareholders & their associations and successful conduct statutory meetings.
- Entrench good corporate governance practices with the Board and Management of shareholders & their associations having good impression about corporate governance practices in the company.
- Prevent imposition of sanctions on the company by the government and or regulatory authorities for failure to comply with applicable laws.
- Successfully conduct statutory meetings for the company in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Minimum Educational Qualification: Minimum of First Degree in Law
Minimum Relevant Work Experience: More than 12 years of cognate corporate practice experience in legal and company secretarial activities.
