The Technical Manager will have overall responsibility for all field operations, technical matters relating to roadside equipment, devices, software, supervising technical staff and liaising with management on the aforementioned. The Technical Manager will report to the Managing Director of the company.

Job Description

  • Establish a small yet highly efficient technical department to ensure high uptimes of all (roadside) equipment;
  • Liaise with local authorities and installation companies for the installation and maintenance of roadside equipment;
  • Ensure that (GSA) approvals and calibration certificates for the technical devices are valid at all times;
  • Organize toolbox meetings and provide product training to field service engineer(s);
  • Efficient handling of support tickets;
  • Reproduce technical issues and liaise with (overseas) technical colleagues to resolve those issues;
  • Develop procedures, supported by the QA department, and ensure that these procedures, including health and safety regulations, are adhered to at all times;
  • Any other duties assigned.

Qualification Required & Experience

  • At least 5 years experience in a similar position in a technical environment;
  • Technical Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, IT or a related discipline. Masters’ degree would be a plus;
  • Good knowledge of Linux, Windows, TCP/IP networks including DNS, VPN and firewalls;
  • Basic knowledge of electric wiring diagrams;
  • Experience in road-side equipment such as CCTV cameras, Traffic Controllers, etc is a plus;
  • Hands-on attitude;
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and motivate others to meet deadlines;
  • High degree of autonomy, flexible and result-oriented.
