We are Aya Data, we provide data labelling services to companies with machine learning (ML) projects to enable them to train their ML models. Much like how a human being learns from seeing and reading, Artificial Intelligence learns from visual and text data. The more data it interacts with the better it can achieve its function. However, this data must be prepared in the correct way (labelled) before it can be used to train AI.

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Business Developer to drive rapid revenue growth in one of Africa’s most exciting AI start-ups. This role will involve personally selling to large global enterprises and major African businesses, as well as contributing to sales strategy, optimizing processes, and reporting on sales activities.

Candidates should be passionate about AI and its potential, adept at explaining technical products, and skilled at selling them to Global and African businesses.

Enthusiasm for proactive outreach via phone, email and LinkedIn is essential.

You'll work directly with the sales leadership team to achieve your KPIs, focusing on revenue growth and client acquisition. The position will be based in Ghana with some travel expected.

Your Mission

What you'll be working on:

  • Sales Strategy Execution: Implement the comprehensive sales strategies designed by the Head of Sales. Identify target markets and customer segments to drive growth.
  • Deal Origination and Closing: Originate and close deals. Ensure that all contracts and agreements are aligned with the company's strategic interests.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Utilize insights to refine sales strategies.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Stay Informed on AI Trends: Keep abreast of advancements in AI technology and industry developments. Identify opportunities to enhance sales efforts.

Required Skills or Experience

  • 3+ years working in technical sales.
  • Deep understanding of AI technologies, data science, machine learning, and software engineering.
  • Strong understanding of the business value of AI solutions and the ability to align products with clients' business goals.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and able to explain technical concepts to clients and business leaders.
  • Passionate about the AI industry and able to stay up-to-date with the rapid evolution of technologies and best practices.
  • Self-starter who thrives on autonomy enjoys a rapid pace, and wants to make a difference
