Job Description
- REPORTING LINES: The Natural Resource Management Officer will report to the Country Director.
OPPORTUNITY
CDO is seeking new talents to reinforce its existing team and significantly contribute to realizing its mission of catalyzing development in Africa. To this end, CDO is actively recruiting a Natural Resources Management (NRM) Manager to support its agriculture and forestry programming team in Ghana.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with the agriculture and forestry programming team, the successful applicant will assist in the overall management and delivery of operational activities related to NRM. In particular, he/she will:
- Lead the regeneration, restoration, and conservation portfolios of the organization
- Coordinate the rollout of NRM-themed interventions
- Provide technical expertise and strategic guidance in implementing NRM project activities.
- Ensure reporting and documentation of all NRM interventions
- Contribute technical inputs towards preparing NRM grant proposals, projects, or programmes.
- Facilitate NRM-related training, seminars and workshops.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Country Director
Required Skills or Experience
Candidates will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Master’s degree in natural resources management, agricultural science, environmental science, or other related disciplines.
- At least seven (7) years of professional experience in community-based approaches to natural resource management.
- Strong knowledge of and working experience in the transitional agroecological and northern landscapes of Ghana.
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in ecosystem-based management of natural resources.
- Ability to organize and conduct training and workshops related to the sustainable use and protection of natural resources.
- Experience collaborating with multi-stakeholders (including national governments, local authorities, media, academia and international organizations) on natural resources and agroecological issues.
- Proficiency in the use of ArcGIS, QGIS, and other GIS tools in mapping, presentation, analysis, and management of spatial data
- Should have mastery of carbon stock assessment and estimation, with proficiency in VCS, CCB, the Gold Standard, TREES, and any other recognized standards used within the Ghanaian context
- Proven analytical and reporting skills.
- Proven capacity for teamwork, multi-tasking, and adaptability.
