Advans is a leading microfinance group established in 2005. Advans Ghana, a subsidiary of the international microfinance group Advans, started its activities in 2008. The institution offers a full range of adapted financial products and services to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Ghana. The institution serves more than 64,000 clients through a network of 20 points of sale and over 650 employees.

The position is a permanent role and is based in our Head Office- Accra.

What will your role be?

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Accounts Officer will assist in regulatory reporting,keeping accounts, and delivering the standard range of financial information (general ledger, subledgers,trial balances, balances, balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement), and annexe information required for financial analysis purpose.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform reconciliations to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the accounts.
  • Contribute to end-of-month/end of Year closures and financial statement preparation
  • Contribute to budget Monitoring and follow-up
  • Compiling, accruing, and processing payments of suppliers’ invoices in the appropriate ledgers
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for internal and external users
  • Provide the requisite information to both internal and external auditors.

CHALLENGES

  • Ability to handle pressure and perform assigned duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to deliver before/on deadlines irrespective of the occasion

Required Skills or Experience

You have a:

  • At least a bachelor's degree in accounting from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • At least part II qualified professional Accountant from reputable accountancy institutions (CA; ACCA; CIMA, CPA…. etc)
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Must have very good proficiency in Excel coupled with experience in reconciliations.
  • A good understanding of the Micro Finance establishment will be an advantage.
