Tap&Hop seeks a highly skilled and innovative Video Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving initiatives in video playout technology, enhancing media workflows, and managing key technology vendors to ensure optimal performance and integration of video services.
Responsibilities
- Video Playout Technology: Lead initiatives in video playout technology, including developing and enhancing multi-platform UI features and integrating advertising and analytics solutions.
- Workflow Enhancement: Enhance and develop new workflows within our Media Management toolsets to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Vendor Management: Manage technology vendors and their solutions, focusing on Cloud services, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), and Video Encoding to ensure seamless integration and performance.
- Live Streaming Operations: Oversee live streaming and production integration and operations, ensuring high-quality and reliable streaming experiences.
- Partner and Vendor Collaboration: Build and maintain strong partnerships with vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and solutions.

Skills
- Proven experience in video engineering, including video playout technology, live streaming, and video encoding.
- Strong understanding of video workflows and formats, including ingestion, encoding, and storage.
- Ability to design end-to-end workflows – from sourced feeds to onsite/remote productions through to-end online platforms (web and app).
- Knowledge of Media Asset Management and orchestration platforms.
- Understanding of video streaming technologies and formats across both on-demand and live architectures (HLS, DASH, and similar online).
- Knowledge and experience with developing scripting languages like Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Go, etc.
- Experience working with public cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or Google, and CDN services like Akamai and Fastly.
- Knowledge and experience working with video players and platform services – Brightcove, Bitmovin, JW Player.
- Passionate about video technology and its ever-evolving landscape.
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Excellent analytical thinking and solution development skills.
- Established a track record of initiative and ownership.
- Strong communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
