Role Purpose

Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the company's social media plan in order to increase online presence across multiple social media pages (Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, website etc), brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and ultimately increase sales

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implement and manage our social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages the community to act.

  • Set up and optimize company pages within agreed social media platforms to increase the visibility of company’s social content
  • Define most important social media KPIs
  • Manage and oversee all social media content
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analysing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then act on the information
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage reputation, identify key players, advise on best channels to use and coordinate actions
  • Create a regular publishing schedule and promote content through social advertising.
  • Implement a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns.
  • Measure the success of every social media campaign
  • Perform any other task within the scope and context of the job assigned by Supervisor

Requirements

  • An HND or Degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with doing audience and buyer persona research will be an advantage

Competencies

  • Social Media Strategist using social media for brand awareness and impressions
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices
  • Understanding of search engine optimisation (SEO) and web traffic metrics
  • Good understanding of social media KPIs
  • Knowledge of online marketing
  • Social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
  • Familiarity with web design and publishing
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
