The Global Fund Community Systems Strengthening under Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health (GCNH) as a potential Sub-recipient (SR) with the Ministry of Health/ Ghana Health Service/ National AIDS and STIs Control Program (NACP) as the Principal Recipient is soliciting applications from suitable and highly qualified individuals to fill the following position: Project Accountant
The post holders will be responsible for the implementation of the Grant Cycle 7 under GCNH.
Please note that this recruitment is contingent upon the award of the Global Fund GC7 grant to GCNH as SR.
Title: Project Accountant

Duty station: Accra
Duration: 12 months initially, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and fund availability
Supervisor: Team Lead

Responsibilities/Deliverables for the Project Accountant
- Coordinate budgeting process and preparation or projects and ensure that budgets reflect workplans for the GC7 project by the Global Fund through its Principal Recipient, MOH/GHS for the period 2024-2026.
- Prepare draft budget narrative report and budget summaries before end of financial period
- Monitor approved budget to ensure compliance by all affected parties.
- Provide necessary training support for subgrantee, Consultants or suppliers staff on financial guidelines and requirements to ensure proper execution of activities as may apply.
- Prepare quarterly variance analysis reports for project management.
- Prepare monthly burn rate for project leadership and advise on best approach to enhance burning as well as maintaining high financial compliance in line with Global Fund Regulations
Key Competencies required by applicants
- Communication skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills (spoken/written), including the ability to listen to and incorporate the views of stakeholders; ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both verbally and in written); ability to tailor language, tone, style and format to match the audience.
- Teamwork skills: Proven ability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a multi-cultural, multiethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Client orientation: Ability to identify clients’ needs and suggest appropriate solutions; ability to establish and maintain productive partnerships with clients.
- Planning and Organizing: Ability to develop clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies; ability to foresee risks and allow for contingencies when planning; and, ability to identify priority activities and adjust them as required.
