The Press Technician at Barry Callebaut Group will be responsible for carrying out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on pressing, butter and associated equipment in the press workshop to ensure their availability to meet production targets. This role will be based in Tema, reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine or daily inspections and solve mechanical problems in the press workshop (presses and associated equipment, AMA Filter, Cake bagging, pneumatic transport, conveyors and storage tank agitators)
- Obtains preventive schedule and breakdown information to undertake maintenance works on the press workshop equipment of the plant
- Troubleshoot on defective mechanical equipment and undertake the necessary emergency repair works
- Support press operators (as operator back-up when needed) to operate press and butter equipment on supervision: presses and associated equipment, AMA Filter, Cake bagging, pneumatic transport, conveyors and storage tank agitators)
- Ensure optimal parameters for a good performance
- Support press operator to fill all the forms and documents and team board related to press workshop
- Support the maintenance team on any other mechanically related interventions on the entire production line in the Factory, including Utilities

About You
- HND Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum 3-5 years in the food manufacturing industry preferably in cocoa processing
- Good knowledge of cocoa processing and cocoa product theology especially in Presses will be an advantage
- Knowledge in hydraulic and pneumatic system
- Knowledge in HACCP, GMP and Hygiene, Food Safety Defense
- Proficient in Office applications, Maximo, SAP and POKA application
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work without supervision and meet deadlines
