Role Purpose
Provide legal advice and guidance to assigned functions on commercial and contractual matters and general legal compliance. Advise commercial units on legal exposures and based on project plans, draft contracts and negotiate with external parties to offer business advantage.
The role holder has a responsibility to provide quality legal advice and support for The Company about transactions and contracts under the supervision of the Head of Legal

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership
- Has day-to-day responsibility for accurate, effective and timely legal advice, analysis and support for the Company on commercial and contractual matters taking into account the commercial environment.
- Negotiates and/or reviews or drafts agreements and any other relevant legal documents relating to the business of the Company.
- Influences and assists in discussions between clients and other functions within the Company. Ensures the best legal solutions to meet general law objectives and to encourage best practices.
- Has overall responsibility for identifying areas of risk within The Company in relation to commercial and contractual legal issues whilst providing solutions to manage the identified risks.
- Coordinates with colleagues in respect of proposed transactions. Where appropriate ensure that relevant legal issues are identified and addressed.
- Acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) on all legal issues between the Legal function and assigned functions.
- Work closely with the other functions within the Company to develop effective structures for general adherence to the law.
- Provides general legal advice on issues affecting the Company when so required.
- Performs legal and other duties that may be assigned by the Head of Legal.
- Preparation of reports with supervision from Head of Legal to Senior Management and updates on key developments on contracts and agreements.
Must have Technical / Professional Qualifications
- Knowledge of National and international Laws on a wide range of commercial and corporate matters.
- The completion of at least a Bachelor's Degree in law and a professional law qualification.
- Requires membership of the Bar Association and be in good standing.
