Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements
Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for sales/business development in Mining plants specifically in Emerson Isolation valves products and Automation solutions core businesses in Ghana and maintaining & cultivating key relationships with mining customers within the assigned coverage area.
Roles and Responsibilities
- • Drive for full scope of supply for Emerson Isolation Valves (Clarkson, Keystone and Actuation) within the assigned coverage area using sales intelligence to understand competition position.
- • Work with the Customer inside Sales Representatives of Emerson to generate quotes, provide technical information, and support strategic customers within the assigned coverage area.
- • Provide input on competitive enhancements & positioning, customer preferences, project activity, and other competitive/market data.
- • Maintain and manage bookings quota that is to be reported monthly for sales and forecasting purposes.
- • Report every week the site visit plan for the mining plants with close connections to Procurement, Maintenance and Automation solutions.
- •To follow up and ensure all open Requests for Quotes from procurement are received in the mining area for Emerson Isolation valves and Automation solutions.
- • Generate leads from visiting the mining plants by convincing the customer with the Emerson valves portfolio and achieving set Sales quota.
- • Prepare and submit Monthly Forecasts in conjunction with the Business unit sales manager.
- •Take a proactive role in working with the Emerson sales team to identify, qualify and pursue projects to achieve order conversion and maximize the potential for Emerson Automation Solutions products and services.
- • Prepare and submit Monthly Forecasts in conjunction with the Business unit sales manager.
- • Establish plans & strategies to protect, grow & forecast the product line core business.
- • Build and update the sales funnel with the current status and share with Emerson on a Monthly basis.
- • Develop long-term relationships with key customer accounts within the coverage area to ensure awareness of the capabilities of the Emerson Valves Business unit.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with minimum of 5 years sales experience in mining industry in Ghana
- Familiar with field instruments and isolation valves
- Good to have experience in isolation valve technologies with a proven record of success in sales / Maintenance in mining industry
- Knowledge of measuring and metering solutions will be an added advantage.
Languages
- Fluency required in reading, writing and speaking English.
