The West Africa Network for Peacebuilding, Ghana (WANEP-Ghana) is a non-profit making peacebuilding Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). It is a civil society institution meant to prevent, resolve, and transform violent conflicts through collective and coordinated efforts of NGOs, local and national state institutions as well as individuals actively engaged in peacebuilding practice in Ghana to avoid the duplication of efforts and maximize resources for more effective responses to conflict situations.
The organization seeks to facilitate the creation of a sustainable culture of non-violence, justice, peace and social reconciliation in Ghanaian communities.
Job Description
WANEP is a West Africa sub-regional NGO whose mission is to enable and facilitate the development of mechanisms for cooperation among civil society-based peacebuilding practitioners and organizations in West Africa. It has offices (National Network Offices) in 15 countries in West Africa. The Ghana office with its National Secretariat located in Tamale, is seeking an experienced person to fill the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. The successful applicants will be based in Tamale.
The M & E Officer under the Agricultural Governance, Resilience and Economic Empowerment (AGREE) Activity, leads in the Monitoring and Evaluation functions of the Activity, undertaking field-level activities in partnership with field-level staff, and assisting the Conflict Mitigation Coordinator (CMC) to report on AGREE activities. In this role, the personnel shall ensure inclusivity, and sensitivity as well as timely delivery of quality reports while maintaining partner and stakeholder integrity.

Your essential duties are listed below.
AGREE
- Support in orientation of communities about the AGREE Expansion Activity.
- Lead in program, annual and quarterly planning
- Participate in budgeting for AGREE
- Support in the design of MEAL frame and Indicators, targets, data collection methods and schedules
- Support review of field activities’ terms of reference (ToRs), and the Activity’s Indicators
- Plan and undertake regular project implementation and monitoring visits to project districts.
- Lead in data collection, data entry, analysis, reporting and knowledge management
- Facilitate, and guide staff to monitor and collect data on indicators and implementation processes
- Facilitate review of budgets for field level activities
- Lead in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual reports, and success stories
- Lead and participate in review and reflection sessions
- Participate in AGREE evaluations
- Build relationships and maintain regular contact with project stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Required Skills or Experience
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Must possess a minimum qualification of a first degree in the Development Planning, Statistics, Social Science, Economics, Mathematics, or other related field of study from any accredited tertiary institution. A master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation will be an added advantage.
- Have a minimum of at least 3 years of post-national service work experience in the fields of development research, project evaluations, advocacy, and development communications.
- Possess excellent knowledge and practical work experience in the conduct of qualitative and quantitative data collection, including research design, data analysis and results communication.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written including report writing and drafting of knowledge resources.
- Possess high competencies in the use of Microsoft tools - Word, Excel, Power Point, and Internet resources.
- Possess high level of analytical capacity and experience in the application of specialized data analysis software.
- Possess skills in the use of MIS and GIS tools
