Job Responsibilities 

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing solutions to optimize network performance.
  • Respond to user-reported network problems, providing timely resolution and effective communication throughout the troubleshooting process.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any potential vulnerabilities or threats, implementing appropriate measures to ensure network security and data protection.
  • performing routine maintenance tasks such as patching Interface Operating Systems (IOS) and applications, backing up data, and updating security settings
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring its alignment with the bank's goals and requirements.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of network upgrades, migrations, and expansions, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents, ensuring that all network-related information is up-to-date and easily accessible on SharePoint.
  • Provide end-user support and training on network-related issues, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and user understanding of network tools and resources.
  • Make recommendations on Software Defined Networking (SDN) strategies. 
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in network support, continuously improving knowledge and skills to enhance the overall performance and effectiveness of the network infrastructure.

Candidate Profile  

  • Minimum of first degree or its equivalent in disciplines such as engineering, computer sciences, with Microsoft Certification and ITIL Foundation certificate CCNA, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC) and wireless access points.
  • Experience in troubleshooting network connectivity issues using diagnostic tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and technologies to ensure optimal network performance and security.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve network-related issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for network security and data protection. 
  • Able to use IT Service Management tools for recording, managing and resolving of Incidents and Service Requests 
  • Good knowledge in network automation tools such as Python, Ansible, APIs and other Orchestration Tools
  • Critical thinking: Critical thinking is the ability to analyze a situation and decide based on the information you have.
