Key Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Network and Systems Administrator is primarily responsible for the entire life cycle of Network and Telecommunications solutions locally and on platforms, including research and development, planning, implementation, operations, analysis, and technology migration for video, voice, and data communication systems. Provide daily operations support and maintenance for network and telecommunication systems within the National Office.
Support and maintain the day-to-day operations of Operating Systems, Servers, Client systems, and associated hardware and business applications in use by World Vision Ghana through the provision of a client-oriented service. They work as a team member on small to medium-sized projects, supporting systems/issues that are low to moderately complex in nature.

Telecom
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installs, configures, and maintains system hardware and software components.
- May analyze and resolve issues related to facilities bandwidth requirements, capacity planning, and analyzes system interdependencies.
- Monitors installed equipment.
- Telecom/Network project management support
Datacenter
- Planning and design of data center architecture, server-client relationships, data security, and capacity planning.
- Development of backup systems, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans. And also, planning for regular testing of these plans to ensure it works.
- Administration and maintenance of all Data Center servers including Windows Operations Systems, Payroll Applications, file servers, SQL database servers, etc.
- Configure and set-up of all new server systems required internally for WV business.
- Planning, implementing, and supporting WV core business applications in NO and Project Offices.
- Systems Administration project management support
Administration
- Installs, configures, and maintains system hardware and software components.
- Implements predetermined software or hardware changes to rectify any issues.
- Maintains local internet, remote access, VPNs, and connectivity protocols.
- Establishes user profiles, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
FCAPS MANAGEMENT (Fault, Configuration, Accounting Performance, And Security)
- Monitors network/telecommunications/datacenter activity and logs problems.
- Monitors facilities’ bandwidth requirements and schedules requests for bandwidth.
- Adjusts bandwidth on a daily or weekly basis.
- Assesses network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the business.
Security
- Implements security procedures.

Customer Support
- Provides support for connectivity or related network/ communication/Datacenter issues for the user community.
- Provides responsive support for problems found during normal working hours as well as outside normal working hours.
Audio & Video Conferencing
- Participates in the set-up and conducts point-to-point audio or video conferencing for meetings, sharing of documents, computer displayed information and whiteboard.
Design/ Develop
- Works with client teams to gather requirements. Analyzes and documents requirements, with assistance.
Policies, Processes, & Standards
- Adheres to policies, processes, and standards.
Business Continuity
- Assists in executing site-specific disaster recovery plans.
Vendor Management
- May work with vendors to resolve network / Telecommunications problems. May assist in reviewing invoices.
Research/ Evaluation
- Gathers and records data on specified vendors’ products against defined requirements.
Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesMinimum Education, Training and Experience Requirements to Qualify for the Position:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields. Or equivalent work experience.
- Typically requires 1-3 years of relevant IT work experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary.
License, Registration, Or Certification Required To Perform This Position
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator 2016 or later (MCSA)
