Job Description
Job Purpose
To provide cost control support by maintaining commercial awareness of each responsible package through understanding of awarded work scope, payment terms, commercial conditions, potential variations, project strategies, package status and interface with other contract works by applying relevant cost management methodology, procedures, and systems in line with the project scope.
Primary Accountabilities (Duties & Responsibilities)
- Provide support to the Supply Chain team in the preparation of related pricing and ancillary data contract document schedules.
- Accountable for processing of related invoices for suppliers and contractors and monitoring of paid costs for corporate reporting on project performance and client invoicing.
- Assist in implementing cost control initiatives for improved efficiency and accuracy in the procure-to-pay process.
- Raise red flags timeously on potential project risk on cost and propose mitigation measures.

- Assist in defining the Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to ensure compatibility with the applied Project Cost Control system.
- Establish and maintain histograms, S-curves, KPI's, graphs / monthly forecasts in identifying cost efficiencies and strategies.
- Process budget shifts and scope changes in the CBE and applied project cost control system when changes are registered for both studies and projects.
- Report cost and progress variations to the planned budget, commitments, FAC, incurred and expended values and variances.
- Assist with the compilation of the baseline budget from contract estimates and posting to the right WBS and cost elements.
- Performs any other related duties based on the exigencies of the Company as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Skills or Experience
Minimum qualification (s)
- Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying or relevant discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification (desirable)
Experience (Minimum)
- 6 years hands-on experience in Project Controls function or similar role.
- Proven working experience in the gold mining industry or oil and gas industry will be an advantage.
Knowledge (In-depth)
- Strong knowledge in Project Management.
- In-depth knowledge in Project Budgeting and Change Control Reporting Principles.
- Knowledge of total cost management tools and systems
Skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suits, e.g., MS Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Knowledge in using scheduling software, Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Practical knowledge in SAP & Costrac software.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills.
