Responsibilities of the Role
- Develop and manage the budget for the institute, including budget planning, forecasting and monitoring expenditure
- Oversee the financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll financial reporting and compliance with financial and policies of the institute and public sector covered entities
- Conduct financial analysis and provide regular reports to the registrar on the financial performance of the institute
- Coordinate and collaborate with external auditors and accountants for financial audits, tax fillings and other financial matters
- Develop and implement effective financial controls, policies and procedures to safeguard the asset and transparency and accountability
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure timely payment of invoices
- Lead the financial and accounting functions of the institute
- Supervise staff, provide guidance and support and provide a positive and productive work environment at the finance and accounting unit of the institute
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective coordination and communication on finance and administrative matters
- Stay updated with the latest financial and administrative regulations, best practices and technology trends to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations

Qualification Required & Experience
- Preferably a member of the institute, with a Bachelor’s Degree is Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A CITG membership with a Master’s Degree in accounting or finance qualification or a membership of any of the recognised professional accountancy body (e.g ICA, ACCA, CPA, CMA) will be an added advantage
- 3 to 5 years proven experience in financial management, accounting or similar role, preferably within the tax industry or a professional association or analogous institution
- Sound knowledge of financial management principles, practices and regulations as pertains to covered entities
- Processed adequate knowledge of procurement and associated financial reporting and disclosure issues pertaining to covered entities
- Proficient in financial software, spreadsheets and other relevant tools for financial analysis and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in office productivity tools (e.g Microsoft Office suite)
- Proven record of integrity, attention to detail, listening and meeting tight deadlines and reporting requirements
