Underground Mining Alliance Ltd. (“UMA”) is a Joint Venture between African Underground Mining Services Limited (AUMS) and Rocksure International carrying out underground development and production works for the AngloGold Ashanti (Obuasi) Mine.
Job Description
UMA is seeking to employ qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Underground Mining engineer. This is an Obuasi-based Fixed Term position with a competitive work roster at its operations in Obuasi. The remuneration package includes an attractive salary and performance-based incentive payments for the right candidates.

ROLE PURPOSE:
The Business Systems Coordinator’s role reports to the Technical Services Superintendent. The role is accountable for providing technical and administrative support to our mining database application, ensuring best practices in the storage and retrieval of mining data as well as the implementation of business process automation projects to improve productivity and work efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain data integrity and quality of the site mining data in the database;
- Create custom reports from the mining database as requested by various stakeholders;
- Assist engineering and mining teams with all data reporting needs;
- Implement data analysis and visualization projects;
- Coordinate the data entry team to ensure the data being entered is of the highest quality;
- Liaise with the Minrep Team in Perth to correct any issues and suggest data capture improvements;
- Assist with Management and Month End Reports for claims;
- Follow documented change management controls and procedures;
- Contribute to the design, testing and implementation of new applications and enhancements or changes to existing applications including troubleshooting issues and recommending solutions;
- Participate fully in process automation projects.
Required Skills or Experience
Desired Skills & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or equivalent
- Minimum of four (4) years working experience in database development, systems design and integration, programming and business process automation
- Leadership experience and a strong desire to coach and develop others;
- Proven people management skills in a similar environment;
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with and influence key stakeholders;
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and have the ability to drive a manual vehicle;
- Ability to work under pressure and have the desire to achieve.

- Sql Server Integration Services
- Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Strong working experience in reporting and data visualization tools such as Excel, Excel Power Tools (Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX), Power BI and QlikView
- Knowledge and experience in Business Process Automation frameworks like Microsoft Power Automate
- Knowledge in an object oriented programming language like C#
- Knowledge in mining systems and processes is an added advantage
