Established in 2006, Marie Stopes Ghana (MSG) is an affiliate of MSI Reproductive Choices and is one of the largest specialized Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) organisations in Ghana. MSG complements the Ministry of Health and Child Care in the provision of quality and affordable general health and SRH services in all provinces of Ghana.
Marie Stopes International Ghana (MSIG) is a result-oriented not-for-profit organization providing family planning, sexual and reproductive healthcare (SRH) services. MSIG’s goal is to meet the needs of underserved Ghanaians, dramatically improve access and use of family planning and other reproductive health services.
Job Description
MSI Ghana has a vacancy for a passion-driven, well-organised, client-oriented and energetic individual with the below relevant qualification/s and experience. MSI Ghana’s goal is to meet the needs of the underserved and improve access to the use of Family Planning (FP) and other Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services.

Budgeting
- Timely uploads all projects budgets into SUN
- Work with Director, Finance & IT to coordinate the preparation of Business Plan (Headline & Detailed Budgets)
- Upload Approved Detailed Business Plan into SUN
- Lead and coordinate quarterly budget review process including Budget holders meeting
- Provide technical support to budget holders and project managers to monitor and control their budgets
Cash and Risk Management
- Support Director of Finance in development and implementation of risk controls
- Manage banking and treasury relationship between MSIG and its Bankers
Required Skills or Experience
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor of Accountancy or Finance or equivalent
- A qualified accountant/ final level or post graduate degree in business administration accounting and finance related field
- Short courses in financial management would be an advantage
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience working for an International NGO in a similar position or role
- Experience of financial grant management for at least ONE of the following; USAID, DFID and European Commission
- Proven experience of increasing cost effectiveness and compliance and reducing financial risk through improved internal controls
- Excellent knowledge of financial management systems and reporting
- Ability to perform under pressure, handle heavy workloads and meet stringent reporting deadlines
- Good level of analytical skills
- Computer literate and hands –on experience with computerized Accounting systems; Knowledge of SUN systems and VISION or Q&A reporting
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels
- Good verbal, written and presentation skills
- Cross-functional team player
- Enormous Relationship building and negotiation skills
