Job Description
Job Purpose:
To administer and compile data to maintain geological and mining databases for resource estimation, grade control, and mining operations. The Incumbent will be a system administrator in charge of designing and implementing the database interface with company Log chief and Datashed software which are data capture and management tools.

Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Compilation and administration of geological and production databases
- Understanding and support of Maxgeo solutions and software products.
- Development of complex queries, triggers and stored procedures.
- Data Validation, Importing and exporting of exploration data.
- Monitoring and reporting exploration results and significant intercepts.
- Production of weekly and monthly QA/QC statistics and assay analysis and reports.
- Guarantee geological databases have integrity periodical checks and updates are required to ensure that the database rules and validations remain valid and are working as expected and that all required data to ensure the database rules can work efficiently is in place..
- Liaising database software clients and CNML IT department.
- Performs any other related duties based on the exigencies of the Company as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications, Experiences and Competencies
Experience (Minimum)
- Minimum 5 years of working experience with 3 years in a similar role.
- Minimum 3 years' T-SQL experience with proven ability to formulate solutions to high-level data problems.
Knowledge (In-depth)
- SQL and visual basic software skills desirable.
- Good understanding of Management Information Systems
- Exposure to automating data capture.
- Sound knowledge of risk management and loss prevention processes.
- Strong presentation, organizational and communication skills.
- Valid Ghanaian Driver’s license and proficiency in driving.

Skills
- Highly computer literate in Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Microsoft Office
- Using or administering geological database systems (GBIS, aQuire, DataShed); Sharepoint 2010
- Previous experience with acQuire, Maxgeo or Datashed desirable
- The role requires a proactive and dynamic individual who thrives on challenges and is capable of working within a team-oriented environment.
- Skill in putting protocol or systems to ensure the validated master database cannot be altered (either unintentionally or maliciously).
- Suitable and reliable quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving and technical reporting skills
- AUSIMM/AIG / SAIMM / WAIMM affiliated or similar industry membership
- Knowledge in using Micomine, Datamine or Leapfrog Geo will be an added advantage.
