Endeavour Exploration is looking to recruit highly motivated and skilled technical professionals over the next few months to join its Exploration department and support its digital transformation.
The main objectives of the successful Data Architecture candidate will be:
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of a centralized data system.
- Help design the network and information technology infrastructure required to host this data system
- Guide and manage the development of technologies that help central data systems interact with critical information distribution and analysis applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Database Management:
- Design, develop and support conceptual/logical/physical data models across an ecosystem of products and services
- Define overall solution architecture of the data pipeline of the enterprise along with addressing technical requirements
- Ensure industry-accepted data architecture principles, standards, guidelines, and concepts are integrated with allied disciplines
- Assist in and/or lead the development and implementation of data collection systems as necessary
- Provide mentoring on data architecture design and requirements to development and business teams
- Review solution requirements and architecture to ensure selection of appropriate technology and efficient use of Resources
- Selection of priority Data policies based on users’ needs
- Identification of Data needs impacts on systems - consolidation of needs derived from use-cases and translation into impacts on data systems
- Training the organization on Data processes and policies
- Communication on Data model and how to read/use it across the whole organization
- Emphasis on the role of Data management and its impact on the Business
Application development and implementation:
- Play a key role in the design and development of software for EDV Exploration
- Participate in design reviews
- Contributing to the documentation/knowledge base, using relevant tooling
Network and Data Host Management
- Monitoring of IT projects with a structuring impact on Data Monitoring of IT projects with a structuring impact on Data
HSE & Procedure:
- Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety and environmental and Social Responsibility practices
- Ensure every person within the team is fit for work
- Ensure that agreed procedures, safeguards and controls are applied and used
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Company standards and procedures
- Ensure hazard management plans are observed
- Keep statutory and internal reporting as required.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Master degree in any of Data Management Analysis, Computer Science, Computer Engineering.
- FEAF, CMMI, COBIT, ITIL, SCRUM, CDMP, Six Sigma, etc. certifications preferred
- 8+ years of related data architecture experience is required. Ideally with some time working in the mining Industry.
Database Management
- Demonstrated experience in database administration and management , data policy implementation and process adaptation.
- Demonstrated experience with different data models (normalized, denormalized, snowflake) and worked with transactional, temporal, structured and unstructured data.
- Data quality management and data architecture standardization experience.
- Experience with installing and maintaining different database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, ArcGIS, Azure data lake, MongoDB, Hadoop).
- Notions on the security measures to be implemented to cover the risks related to data confidentiality
Network and Data Host Management
- Understanding of network systems and strong intuition on how to debug and de-bottleneck connectivity and network issues.
- Deep understanding of the operational dependencies of applications, networks, systems, security, and policy
- Expertise on Data management tools/IT architecture models
- Demonstrated experience working with at least one of the top cloud providers data stack and engineering tools.
- Ideally experience with Azure cloud solutions. Able to provision/manage/decommission/monitor services/instances/VMs.
- Knowledge of best practices in cyber security for data management.
Application development and implementation
- Demonstrated experience with ETL development with data integration to support data marts, extracts and reporting.
- Experience coding data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data connectors (e.g., implementing lightweight API to retrieve and aggregate data from SQL database, implementing spatial query in ArcGIS).
- Deep understanding of data exchange patterns including APIs, event driven architecture and CDC.
- Experience implementing APIs (mostly REST-APIs) and micro-services (e.g., to expose data assets to applications).
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (to be applied in the context of Explo work, i.e., working with database managers, data owners/stewards, data-savvy geologists, external consultants, data scientists, and potentially more), e.g., Jenkins/CircleCI for CI/CD, Jira/Trello for project mgmt, Git for version control across diverse teams.
- Experience with Docker (software toolkit for containers) / Kubernetes (system for operating containerized apps).
- Experience automating/scheduling/orchestrating code workflows (e.g., regular data feeds, scheduled mirroring)
