The ideal candidate for this position must have the ability to:
- Oversee facilities services, maintenance activities and tradespersons (e.g Mason)
- Oversee operations and maintenance of company fleet vehicles
- Initiate, implement, and manage maintenance strategies based on best practices in the industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling preventative/reactive maintenance.
- Prepares reports, and data, and makes recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Manages a team of outsourced maintenance contractors and ensures that maintenance contractors are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost?effective manner.
- Negotiate a cost-neutral continuation contract with key maintenance partners, widen the pool of Outsourced contractors as a continuing effort to improve the quality of service offered and also develop a relationship with all existing maintenance partners, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two?way communication concerning maintenance issues.
- Be available to initiate emergency maintenance work outside of normal working hours, as required for: failure of electrical & mechanical systems

Required Skills or Experience
Education
- Degree or Diploma level or equivalent.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
- Good Experience and excellent knowledge of Fleet & facilities management
- A good understanding of property maintenance
- Preference for action – self-starter with the personal drive and motivation to proactively identify issues, progress activities and deliver solutions
- Communication – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to give clear and precise instructions to third parties. Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels is vital to this role.
- Professional knowledge and Analytical thinking – Strong, rationale thinking with a challenging, questioning mind that can view issues as a whole as well as drill down into the final detail
- Team Orientation – Ability to work as a team member to deliver objectives on time against tight time pressures.
- A valid Class ‘B’ driver’s license (Essential)
