Project Background
We specialise in ensuring access to inclusive education and safe spaces so that children can play, grow, learn and thrive. We are a Ghanaian NGO that belongs to the Chance for Childhood family registered in the UK.
We are seeking an outstanding professional to support the implementation of our inclusive early childhood education pilot project in Accra being implemented in partnership with the Ghana Education Service and other NGOs.
The purpose of this role is to coordinate the implementation of our inclusive early childhood pilot project in Accra by working closely with project partners (ie Ghana Education Service, schools and partner NGO’s).
Key responsibilities:
Programme management (60%)
- Coordinate the implementation of the inclusive early childhood education pilot project by working closely with all project partners.
- Develop and implement project workplans with support of programmes manager.
- Monitor the impact of any changes to project activity plans, ensure issues or challenges are identified early, effectively addressed and communicated internally and/or to partners as appropriate
- Ensure timely receipt of financial and narrative reports from partners, analyse and seek clarification where necessary, and agree on a remedial plan of action with partners on any issues of concern.
- Together with project partners, carry out periodic monitoring of project progress and outcomes.
- Lead in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports on project progress.
Operations, HR and Organizational Development (40%)
- Line manage any field team staff including volunteers who may be assigned to the project.
- Ensure that project records are well maintained through filing appropriately the correspondence and any important documents. In a bid to support a paperless office, all important correspondence shall be saved in images on SharePoint in the appropriate folders.
- Actively participate in team meetings, and teamwork plans, adopt team spirit, take responsibility for action items assigned, and provide feedback as needed.
- Represent Chance for Childhood in external meetings and events as requested
- Perform any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as may be required

Required Skills or Experience
- The candidate should have at least a first degree in education/special education, social science, or any other relevant field of study related to the post. A minimum of 2 years of experience in delivering on the key responsibilities for this position is required.
- Experience working in a local NGO or Development Agency within the education sector is required.
- Experience in working with children with special needs is desired.
- Project management skills and working knowledge of MEL approach in education is desirable;
